China bamboo flooring was researched and produced in 1980s. The manufacturer of Taiwan, China worked out the first set of equipment manufacturing the flooring. The output of the flooring is very little at the initial stage. There are several following reasons for the problem. 1. The relevant technology is under developing. 2. The product series is too simple. Only natural type, carbonized type and some other types were available at that time. 3. It is a brand new flooring product. Most flooring users even didn’t know bamboo can be used to make flooring at that time.
China relevant manufacturers improved the technology a great deal and promoted the sale of the product globally. The advantages of China bamboo flooring are low price, good foot feel, environment protection, excellent stability, great hardness and less color difference.
1. Low price
China bamboo flooring(F) is much cheaper than most types of solid wood flooring which prices are often 3times, 4 times higher.
2. Good foot feel
The foot feel of F is better than laminate flooring. It feels warm in the autumn and feels cool in the summer.
3. Environment protection
Bamboo grows very fast. Many solid wood can’t used for flooring purpose unless the tree is at least 10 years old. But bamboo can be used to make flooring when it is only 5 years old. It is an ideal wood flooring to replace solid wood flooring. So China bamboo flooring can reduce the cut of forest a great deal.
4. Excellent stability
F is not easy to be out of shape due to its proper structure.
5. Great Hardness
The natural hardness of F is 1 times more than that of most type of solid wood flooring, so it is well impact resistant and durable. Its life lime can be over 20 years if it is properly used.
6. Less color difference
The color difference of F is much less than that of solid wood flooring.
The disadvantages of China bamboo flooring are average wearing resistance and much less color choice.
1. Average wearing resistance
F is not strong abrasion resistant. Its surface is easy to be scratched by metal or sharp things. Some manufacturers will lacquer some paint which contains AL2O3 on the surface, but laminate flooring is much more wearing resistive than F.
2. Much less color choice
The colors of F are very limited. It is divided into natural type and carbonized type which is in terms of the carbonization process during the production. The natural type offers the natural bamboo color. The carbonized type offers brown colors. It is divided into vertical type and horizontal type in term of its structure. It can be stained with various colors such as red color. But the colors of China bamboo flooring are much less than that of solid wood flooring and laminate flooring.

1. Choose wood core type raised access floor if better foot feel is preferred. Unlike China laminate flooring, the surface of wood core is not strong abrasion resistant. So the surface should be covered with antistatic HPL or PVC which is strong wearing resistant. Choose HPL, PVC or carpet covered type if more beautiful look is required for the type of cement infill panel. Choose perforated type if ventilation for the floor is preferred. Choose OA type if lots of wire or cables need to be used on the floor. Don’t choose wood core type if water resistance is required.
2. Set the weight of the heaviest facility in the computer room as the minimum loading capacity to avoid the damage of raised access floor during its daily use. Be familiar with the required specifications such as the concentrated load, uniform load, ultimate load, system resistance and wearing resistance to make sure the selected floor meet each standard.
3. The surface of raised access floor should be strong abrasion resistant, strong moisture resistant, anti-slip, environmentally friendly, strong corrosion resistant and clean. The pedestal can be adjusted to the required height. Check the length, width and thickness of panel to see it meet the requirement. Check the pedestals to see if they are fully galvanized if galvanization is required.
4. Calculate the total indoor area of the room and then work out the necessary quantity of raised access floor and related accessories such as cable box, lifter, pedestal, stringer, etc.

1. Don’t walk on the bamboo flooring within 24 hours after installation. Don’t put heavy matter on the floor within 72 hours after installation. The planks begin to touch moisture in the air after installation. And the planks will expand a bit in a short time. Some time is needed before the floor planks can work well with each other.
2. Use clean broom to get rid of the sundries and dust. Then clean the floor with cleanser or damp mop(half-dry). Don’t use water to clean the floor.
3. Regarding the dirt on the floor, scratch it with a obtuse knife Then use damp mop(half-dry) to clean the dirt. Wax the surface of bamboo flooring periodically.
4. Handle with care while moving furniture on bamboo flooring. Don’t put heavy furniture on the floor directly. Put soft pad between the legs of the heavy furniture and floor to protect it. Avoid the leg of metal furniture from touching the floor surface directly. Avoid metal or sharp things from damaging the surface. Lacquer the finish if the paint on the surface is damaged.
5. Close window and door before leaving to avoid rain from falling on the planks because the rain will make the floor planks expand and warp after the planks absorb too much water. Wipe any liquid away immediately if it falls on the floor.
6. Keep the room ventilated to make the indoor damp air and the little formaldehyde from bamboo flooring goes out when it is damp. Keep the air a bit damp when it is too dry.
7. Avoid sunshine from irradiating the bamboo flooring directly as direct sunshine irradiation does harm to the lacquer’s life time.

Someone has a house installed with engineered flooring(E). And he was going to replace it with China bamboo flooring(B). But it is very difficult to
get rid of the engineered planks. He wonders if he can install B on E.
Our reply:
B can be fitted on any firm, dry and flat place. If the engineered planks in the house meet these requirements, you can install B on the tiles. The thickness of B is normally 14mm or 15mmThe height between the door and floor is normally less than 14mm and more than 6mm. The thickness of floor will be over 22mm if some subfloor is installed on the ceramic tile and under B. So you need to replace the former door with a a “shorter” one to make door work well if B is installed on E. It will much more convenient if China bamboo flooring is just installed on the corridor and there is no door neighboring to the channel.
